Cabins are special. Maybe it’s the smell of old wood, the way the light filters through simple curtains, or the way quiet wraps around the walls like a blanket. For us, cabins have always stirred something deeper—something grounded, calm, and just a little bit wild.
Over Home Cabins began as a quiet project. It started with road trips and daydreams, passing through Tennessee backroads and down Florida’s coastlines. We took photos. We talked to builders. We wandered through fixer-uppers, renovated escapes, and modern rustic getaways tucked into trees or perched above salt marshes. The more we explored, the more we wanted to share what we found.

This blog is our way of documenting that journey, part journal, part directory, and part celebration of all things cabin living in the Southeast. You’ll find interviews with local craftsmen, design inspiration for small spaces, and stories of cabins brought back to life by people who care more about character than square footage.
Whether youre here dreaming of your future cabin or just want to see how others live with intention and style, welcome. We’re glad you’re here.
